At the moment, I have received multiple complaints about my shitty computer, I've managed to be able to get decent FPS in videos but I still have really bad FPS in-game and such. So, I have decided to possibly sell this POS and get a new one.

I have my eye on two at the moment.

My budget is 1000 bucks. If you guise have any other options that are better then these two, shoot me a link pliz!

I look forward to finally watching a youtube video in 1080P! amused

Definatly the first one, but the graphics card is not the best, for l4d2 you should be perfectly fine, but if you play crysis and stuff like me, might want to upgrade it, if not, then the first 1 is MUCH better

They're both Awful deals.... If you're interested in making one, I'm sure you can make a better one for a lot less! but if not, I'd probably get something with a better graphics card.

I would never buy from iBUYPOWER. trash service and most of the time trash components.

I'd get the first one with a graphics card upgrade if possible. I'm playing on a GTS 250 and it's running L4D1 and L4D2 very smoothly, so you should be fine. Not sure about the iBUYPOWER brand though, take in mind what eclip5e says. You might want to see if it's cheaper to buy parts instead.

1080p still takes forever to load

Being both hardware illiterate and a huge cheapass, I'd not be in a rush to buy, what I've done for my last two computers is to just watch woot and slickdeals for a decent computer, making sure it's got decent processor speed and whatever cool bits you want. that way if it's still lacking in any certain area you can feel a bit more justified splurging on the ram/video card/hard drive from there. last year I got 2 ~1200 computers for 650 each, pretty boss

This seems like a noob question but does that last link basically have everything you need for a computer besides monitor, keyboard, and mouse or do you have to buy like the sound card and video card as well. Thanks in advance smile

You'd have to buy the cards, methinks. Hell of a deal either way.

You could always get a laptop like mine:

Pretty pro huh?

In all seriousness though, that rig z-Ro posted looks pretty decent.

I currently have a GeForce 9400 GT, 512 MBs of VRAM. Is that good enough to just stick in the rig?

L4D2 is not graphics card intensive unless you want to run full graphics.

I'd recommend building your own PC, you can get stuff cheap, have full control over what goes in, and you don't have to pay all the trashy extra fees a pre-made comes with.

I built my rig and it runs fine other than my GT240 doesn't like L4D2, or the other way around.

I like at least a gig of ram in my graphics card.

Well ATM I'm not really looking for max settings, I'd be more then happy at medium/high settings with good FPS. With the rig Z-ro posted and an Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT, can I run L4D2 on medium settings with 60 FPS or more?

hmm... 9400 gt? -_- why!!

If you can spend a little bit of money... keep a keen eye out for this graphics card. 9400 is just old schoool now.

All Source games are CPU Intensive and the majority of your frames will come from how powerful your processor is.

The knock down from higher AA & ISO filtering is so minimal on higher spec PC's you'll not notice it, infact for some strange reason i'm finding people who run L4D/L4D2 on full settings are getting more frames then when they run on lower settings, (per EG I get 250~ on medium and 300~ constant on full).

The GeForce 9400 GT is an outdated and sluggish GPU but as I said before it all comes down to your CPU. Bang out a mid range processor that's compatible with your motherboard, add another 1536MB of ram coupled with that and you'll be looking at around £50-70 (I don't know the $ equivalent or how expensive parts are out there but seeing as your in the same country as half these component designers it's probably cheaper).

Should give you 100~ FPS on average on High settings, if it doesn't you're dredging your PC down with too many background applications or have some faulty components, malware, virus' etc.

(My brother runs an AMD Athlon 5600(?) Dual core, 2GB of DDR2 @ 800 MHz, Nvidia 8600 GT (512Mb DDR3) and gets around 120~ FPS with all his settings on high).

Happy hunting.

I built my computer, got a 1080P monitor and I average 70-90FPS in L4D1, 80-120 in L4D2 spending $1,030 back in September. If you'd like help picking out parts for a PC, I'd be absolutely willing to help you out!

I will never buy pre-built again. They become such a hassel, especially if you want to upgrade at all.

The only good thing about prebuilt systems are the neat wire management they have.
But I agree with everyone else that says you should build your own. A lot cheaper and gets you more in touch with computer hardware so you know whats going on in there and how to fix things if they go wrong.

No the only good thing about prebuilt system is that i can start masturbating faster while watching porn on my new PC then i would otherwise.
Neat wire management is really easy to do with 5$ worth of strips and knowing how air flows.

You should try winning a tournament so you don't end up paying 1 grand for a computer that will be outdated in a year.
